   Division 4 No. 4-ranked and two-time defending Michigan High School Athletic Association champion Bloomfield Hills Academy of the Sacred Heart won the MHSAA Region 29 championship on Wednesday, May 19, at St. Clair Shores South Lake.

   Sacred Heart won the championship with 20 points. No. 10 Clarkston Everest Collegiate, Warren Regina, and Grosse Pointe Woods University Liggett tied for second place with nine points each. All four teams advanced to the MHSAA Division 4 championship on June 4-5.

   Junior Belle Burg (No. 2) and sophomore Eve Jackson (No. 4) won singles flights for the Gazelles.

 

   Sacred Heart won three doubles flights with the teams of junior Marisa Nafso and freshman Kayla Nafso (No. 1), freshman Maggie Pulte and freshman Lulu George (No. 2), and sophomore Katie Kelly and freshman Jordan Rivenburgh (No. 4) earning championships.

   Senior Reagan Beatty (No. 1 singles) and the team of senior Noor Simon and junior Angelina Kakos (No. 3 double) were runners-up in their flights.

   Sacred Heart is the two-time defending Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 4 champion. Sacred Heart has won six MHSAA girls tennis championships in the past decade (2012, 2013, 2015, 2016, 2018, and 2019).

   The 2020 season was canceled due to the pandemic.
