Division 4 No. 4-ranked Bloomfield Hills Academy of the Sacred Heart defeated Catholic High School League rival and No. 10-ranked Clarkston Everest Collegiate 7-1 in girls tennis action on Wednesday, May 12, at Sacred Heart.
Sacred Heart swept the doubles flights with the teams of junior Marisa Nafso and freshman Kayla Nafso (No. 1), freshman Maggie Pulte and freshman Lulu George (No. 2), senior Noor Simon and junior Angelina Kakos (No. 3), and sophomore Katie Kelly and freshman Jordan Rivenburgh (No. 4) earning wins.
Junior Belle Burg (No. 2), senior Alexis Harman (No. 3), and sophomore Eve Jackson (No. 4) won singles flights for the Gazelles.
Sacred Heart improved to 11-2-2 in dual meets on the season.
They host the CHSL Bishop Division Championship on Saturday, May 15.
Sacred Heart is the two-time defending Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 4 champion. Sacred Heart has won six MHSAA girls tennis championships in the past decade (2012, 2013, 2015, 2016, 2018, and 2019).
The 2020 season was canceled due to the pandemic.
